Nabu Casa runs Home Assistant Link, and the majority of the profits from subscriptions fund the Open Home Foundation. Home Assistant works without it: Link adds extras, like reaching your home from anywhere, connecting Alexa and Google Assistant without setting that up yourself, faster speech-to-text for Assist, and a place to store a backup online.
It was called Home Assistant Cloud until October 2026. In Core, the cloud integration connects to it, and the UI and the integration still use the old name in places. In text, say Home Assistant Link.
