Help on social media
How you can help Home Assistant reach more people on social media, and who to contact.
Most people hear about Home Assistant from someone else: a friend, a video, a post on Reddit. Sharing what you do with Home Assistant is one of the most effective ways to help the project grow.
These are the official accounts of Home Assistant:
Only those accounts speak for Home Assistant. If you run a fan account, a group, or a channel, make that clear in its name or description, so nobody mistakes it for an official one.
- Share what you build. A dashboard you are proud of, an automation that saves you time, a device you got working locally. Real homes convince people more than any announcement.
- Share the news. Repost release announcements and blog posts. Every release has a release party live stream on YouTube, which is a great thing to share. See Release notes and the release party.
- Answer questions where people ask them. Not everyone finds the forum. A helpful reply under a post on social media helps too.
- Suggest a community highlight. Saw something great someone made? Suggest it as a community highlight.
- Stay kind. The code of conduct applies on social media too, when you talk about or for the community. Disagreeing with someone is fine. Piling on is not.
If you make videos, tutorials, or reviews about Home Assistant, look at the Creator Network. It connects content creators with the team.
Want to use the Home Assistant name or logo? Name and logo explains how to write the name and use the logo. For product packaging and marketing, there are separate rules in the badge and brand guidelines of Works with Home Assistant.
